I like to think that I have a tough job. My friends disagree. They think I have it easy. Why??

Well I work from home for the most part. My team is spread out across 3 countries and 4 different cities as well so we work vrtual regardless of wether we happen to be in one of our cubicles stacked against other cubicles. Officially (as far as the company is concerned anyway ) I have an office in a building with about 600 other people. My division pays for the space monthly and believe it or not it costs them about $1000 to keep me there every month. If they made me an official “work at home” they would save about $700 a month….so it makes sense to make the move, I am at home at least 3 days a week, but they won’t. Corporate policy!! LOL, Corporate Stupidity is more like it.

Well enough ranting and on to other things.
I also work PT online ( www.adsenseoverdrive.com ) and this income keeps me pretty happy and free. I say free because as a second stream of income I now have choices. I love making money and my 2 jobs combined make me some sweet cash, but better than money, I like freedom. Knowing that at anytime I could end either job and move on and still have income coming in to get through any lean times is very zen like for me. Freedom.

I plan to have a number of posts dedicated to working from home and the challenges and the benifits that it provides. This is the way of the future and really there is no stopping it. Why companies arent signing up sooner is beyond me. The job satisfaction that one gets from it alone would increase company productivity, and therefore profits, exponentially. It just makes sense. Its relationship management at its best, managing ( as well as customer )relationships is the key to the future sucess of a company. The one thing I know for sure is you need to interact with people, wether they are customers or employees, in order for those people to keep coming back, think before calling in sick or accepting a competitors offer. This is opposed to old school thinking about simply completeing a transaction with a customer or employee. Think about it, would you rather a transaction, meaning you have a problem “here is the solution good bye thanks for coming out”, or an interaction, meaning “hi how are you, lets see about that problem, oh i also noticed you arent taking advantage of the freebies on the account would you liek more info on that, no?, ok no problem you have a great day and call anytime you have a question”. Personally I want to interact, not transact!

Well it looks like I need to focus on my Mon-Fri duties now, so I am signing out for now!! Have a great day and please feel free to leave a comment. I love to hear what others are saying!
